3 Statements Introverts Have to Deal With

1. “You don’t spend time with people so you don’t know about human feelings.”

What if I told you the fact that we know more about human feelings than you think is the reason we don’t spend time with people?

Assuming we don’t know how to love or understand how someone feels simply because we spend more time introverting rather than filling your expectations of “spending time with people” is insulting because it presumes we are problematic, as if we’re not human ourselves and we don’t know how to feel.

2. “You must get bored being by yourself all the time.”

We almost never get bored because contrary to extroverts that get their energy being around people we get ours by being alone and doing our stuff. The fact that we’re alone doesn’t mean we’re not active or busy living, quite the contrary we’re at our best as we’re comfortable in our own company. It’s simply our lifestyle so don’t think we’re bored just because our ideas of fun or entertainment are different.

3. “You’re not living your life.”

It’s not in anyone’s place to judge how to live our lives, introversion or extroversion doesn’t matter here. Each person’s standards on what is “living life” are different and it would be boring if that was not the case because everyone would be the same.

Just don’t go waving your finger in front of my face and lecturing me on the “correct way” to live life as one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.
