Three Tips on Interacting With Introverts
1. Don't push us to talk more.
As Introverts we are mindful of what we say and do and we don’t just talk for the sake of talking. When we feel comfortable and we think what we’ll say matters we will open up (sometimes even beyond your expectations).
2. Respect our need for alone time.
Alone time for us is like food and water, a deep mental need that will probably never be fully saturated so don’t take it personally if we respectfully decline your repeated invitations. It’s not about you, it’s about us.
3. Accept that you won't see us often.
This ties in to alone time and further builds on it but it takes it a step further. We can be true friends that love and care about you and at the same time disconnected hermits that seem as if we don’t exist in your life. Once again, it’s not personal and it’s something you have to accept if you’re interacting with us.
